Apple has released the new version of iOS 6, iOS 6.1.4 update, for iPhone 5 users for a span. You may have heard about some opinions about it. Some people would have a passion for it since it helps users to better enjoy iPhone 5 to its potential, while others would complain about some shortcomings of it, such as after the update, they lost data on iPhone 5, or it is hard to jailbreak. In fact, we recommend you should go to experience this update for it can really make a difference on your iPhone 5 and we would like not to specify the benefits of it. Here we prefer to mention some important things you should pay attention to before you go to the iOS 6.1.4 update for your iPhone 5.


The first thing you should note is that any iOS update would cause data loss on your iPhone. When updating, your iPhone 5 needs enough space to download and install the update. If “Download and Install” is grayed out or you get the message saying “This update requires at less XX GB of available storage”, this means you would not be successful to update iOS 6.1.4. So before you go to update, make sure you have enough available storage.
