Apple’s WWDC 2013 developer conference has been hold from June 10-14 in San Francisco, and we have learnt more details on the 7 update for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. But rumors have been going around before this conference. Let look back to what the rumors were saying.

Notice: Be careful of the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch backup password when you update iOS, or you may have no access to your backup files. If that happens, refer to iPhone Data Recovery.

iOS 7 Release Date

It looks like the new operating system might be running a little behind schedule. John Gruber, a famous writer whose weblog focused on Apple, Mac, and web nerdery, believes that iOS 7 is “running behind”, with engineers being pulled from OS X 10.9 to work on it.

We’re expecting a September or October release date for iOS 7 in line with previous releases. We’ll almost certainly see a reveal at WWDC. Apple has promised to give devs “an in-depth look at what’s next in iOS and OS X”, Mobile web traffickers such as Onswipe have already reported seeing iOS 7 pop up in their logs.

iOS 7 Design

According to the Wall Street Journal in late March 2013, Jonathan Ive, the Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple Inc., is pushing for a starker and simpler design for iOS 7. He may change the entire look and feel of iOS to a fresh one, thus making it a stiff rival to Android, Windows Phone and Blackberry OS 10. Apple must take it a chance to breathe a new life to the operating system to turn it highly competitive in mobile markets.

What else may be seen in iOS 7’s feature?

1. Hide Apple apps. Is it too much to ask for a switch in Settings that will hide those we don’t use?

ios-7-release-date-news-and-rumours (3)

2. Better app management: more screens; by default saving app data on delete; and an alphabetical list of installed apps, perhaps accessible from Spotlight.

3. Change app defaults. We want the ability to use non-default apps for important things email and calendaring. Apple’s own apps would remain the defaults, but you should also be able to pick your own in Settings.

4. Provide a guest account. You can switch to when handing your device over to someone for a short while; something similar already exists on the Mac in OS X.

5. Change Siri’s voice. It’d be great if you could choose the voice your device uses to speak.

6. Provide App Store demos. Apple should just allow demos: 24 hours from first launch and then you buy or the app won’t run.

7. Power up “Do Not Disturb”. Do Not Disturb is a great feature that enables you to time when your phone will quit bugging you. But you can define only a single schedule, and we want to see alternative options for weekends.

ios-7-release-date-news-and-rumours (2)

8. Make locking location-aware. It could be more intelligent, locking on a location-aware basis, and not when you’re, say, happily sitting at home on the sofa.

9. Improve the lock screen. For example, artwork from a currently playing song is displayed on the lock screen, but there are no controls for pausing or skipping to the next track, until you double-press Home, which isn’t hugely discoverable. And beyond notifications, nothing else shows up there at all.

ios-7-release-date-news-and-rumours (5)

10. Cut all iTunes ties. Thus we have no need to backup files through iTunes.

11. Make more icons dynamic. It’d be nice at the least if Apple made its own Clock and Weather icons dynamic.

12. Enable cross-platform installs.

Even though we don’t know the exact new features of iOS 7, we still put eyes on its release. In other case many Apple users begin to worry about the data losing after the update. Don’t be panic as we have iPhone Data Recovery to recover all photos, text messages, contacts, notes, etc.

It allows you with root access to the iOS operating system, permits you to download additional applications, extensions, and themes which you can’t get from the official Apple App Store and enable you to use the third party apps, handset on multiple carriers, early exploit fixes, etc. You may get ready to experience the jailbreaking process for your iPhone 5. But don’t be too excited to early. There are many traps you would fall into if you don’t make the warnings clear before. Here we would like to list some of the notes you should pay high attention to in order to jailbreak your iPhone 5 in a perfect state.

Warnings You Should Pay Attention to Before You Jailbreak iPhone 5

  1. Apple has announced that jailbraking iPhone 5 can violate the warranty, and you can’t rely on AT&T, Verizon, or Apple to fix any problems that you encounter in the after days.
  2. In the Apple Store, the apps you pay for are of high quality and security, so you don’t need to worry about the virus attack. However, the software published in other website may easily affect iPhone battery life and the system stability, especially when the software is poorly optimized.
  3. All of the applications that you use to jailbreak your iPhone 5 would have the potential to damage or completely disable your device for they are unauthorized. So you need to make specifically sure that those applications would do little harm to your iPhone 5.
  4. You may suffer data loss to some extent. When you pull out the USB cable during the process, when the jailbreaking gets stuck, or when unfortunately the jailbreak is unsuccessful, you may get some data loss or totally lose all the files on your iPhone 5. So you need to backup your device before you jailbreak it.
  5. How to back up your iPhone 5 in order to avoid data loss after jailbreak? You can use iTunes or iCloud for backup, or you can try iPhone 5 Data Recovery to backup your data on PC. What if you forget to backup iPhone 5 and suffer data loss after jailbreak? Use iPhone 5 Data Recovery again to recover the lost data.
  6. Before you can start to jailbreak your iPhone 5, you need to successfully put your device into DFU mode. Many users fail to enter into the iPhone 5 DFU mode, so the very important thing, besides the above tips, is that you need to verify that the Power button and the Home button on your iPhone 5 work. Otherwise, you need to download other apps to put it into DFU mode.

Apple has released the new version of iOS 6, iOS 6.1.4 update, for iPhone 5 users for a span. You may have heard about some opinions about it. Some people would have a passion for it since it helps users to better enjoy iPhone 5 to its potential, while others would complain about some shortcomings of it, such as after the update, they lost data on iPhone 5, or it is hard to jailbreak. In fact, we recommend you should go to experience this update for it can really make a difference on your iPhone 5 and we would like not to specify the benefits of it. Here we prefer to mention some important things you should pay attention to before you go to the iOS 6.1.4 update for your iPhone 5.

The first thing you should note is that any iOS update would cause data loss on your iPhone. Whether you are using Apple iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 or even the later modles, you would never get rid of losing data and other information during or after iOS update. It is a big defect, isn’t it? However, you can avoid data loss if you back up your iPhone 5 before you update it to new iOS 6.1.4.

After you have the serious awareness of knowing iOS update would cause data loss, the next significant thing you should pay attention to is to find out ways to back up your iPhone 5. Conventionally, you may know that using iTunes is a good way for backup. You can just Sync with iTunes and iTunes would automatically backup almost all of your data, settings, and other information. Or you can also right-click (control-click) your iPhone 5 under Devices and choose Back Up. iTunes would help to store your data in your computer. Besides, to back up your data into computer, you can use iPhone 5 Data Recovery to help your freely transfer data into computer and select a save path to back up those data into your computer.

Moreover, if you don’t like to use hard drive to store your iPhone 5 data, you can make backup with iCould. Go to Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage. Your iPhone 5 data would be backed up into the cloud.

The next important thing you should watch out is whether your iPhone 5 gets enough available storage or not to store the new iOS update. When updating, your iPhone 5 needs enough space to download and install the update. If “Download and Install” is grayed out or you get the message saying “This update requires at less XX GB of available storage”, this means you would not be successful to update iOS 6.1.4. So before you go to update, make sure you have enough available storage.

Backing up Apple devices is a helpful way to prevent data loss on your iPhone 5/4S/4/3GS, iPad 4/3/2/1, iPod touch 5/4, etc. If you deleted your data or lost files, you can use iTunes to recover them.

You can backup your Apple devices via iTunes in 2 ways: sync your devices with iTunes. But this is now workable when you have iCloud backup turned on. Or you can right-click (control-click) your devices under Devices in iTunes and choose Back Up.

  1. 2.       Locations of the iTunes Backup files

After you backup Apple devices with iTunes, the data are stored in different locations according to different operating systems on your computer.

For Windows 7/Vista: C:\Users\uer\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Bckup.

  1. 3.       Delete a Backup in iTunes

If you don’t want some files in your iTunes and want to delete them, you can try the following steps:

Open iTunes Preferences. If your computer runs Windows system, you can go to Edit > Preferences. If you are using Mac, go to iTunes > Preferences.

Encrypting backups can help to prevent others’ access to your data and information if you don’t want other people to get your files. If you want to encrypt the information in iTunes, go to iTunes Summary screen, and select “Encrypt iPhone backup”.

However, if you encrypt the backups in iTunes and then forget your password, you won’t get access to your files, such as photos, contacts, SMS, etc. If you want to recover those data from iTunes, you can try iPhone Backup Unlocker to help you. This tool can recover lost backup password that restores iPhone, iPod, iPad and other Apple devices’ data.

  1. 5.       Recover Lost Data of Apple Devices from iTunes

When you accident deleted or lost data from iPhone 5/4S/43GS, or other Apple devices, you can restore the lost files from iTunes backup.

T-Mobile’ first iPhone 5 marketing spot is live, as T-Mobile is kicking off its official sales of the iPhone 5 from Friday.

According to the T-Mobile’s new Uncarrier plans, the iPhone 5 can be bought at $99, with $20 monthly payments for 2 years to cover the balance, or for free if you switch from another carrier and bring a device in for trade.

T-Mobile is also offering iPhone 5 both in retail and online. You can pick from either of the two monochrome extremes and if you wish to spend a little less, you can pick up iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 instead. However, you can get the same subsidized pricing from Apple directly. If you want to pick up the concessions, you need to scroll through the options at the Uncarrier source and make sure you have got well prepared for the Coachella stream.

For both Apple and the small carrier, the big market is absolutely good news. T-Mobile’s potential reach only shows about 26.1 million total additional subscribers for Apple, which is not a big number in global subscriber terms but gives Apple space to enlarge its smartphone dominance in the US. This can supply Apple a late-stage bump for the iPhone 5, which is going to face more and more pressure with the furious competition of flagship devices, such as Samsung Galaxy S4.

T-Mobile has been left out of launch day hype for many times surrounding the release of Apple’s iPhone, with the carrier relegated to watching from the sidelines as AT&T, Sprint and Verizon locations saw customers queue for the iPhone 5 back in September.

The iPhone 5 and the carrier’s new model could be a big attraction for many switchers, but is still needs time to wait and see if that impacts the overall distribution of U.S. wireless customers in any significant way.

Tips for iPhone 5 Backup Password

In many cases, you may have back up your iPhone 5 data with iTunes before updating, but your iTunes asks for a password even though you never put a password in. if you want to recover your iPhone 5 backup, you can try iPhone Backup Unlocker to help you, which is designed for disabling backup passwords for iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, and any other Apple devices.

Apple has reportedly cut its shipments of the iPad mini to between 10-12 million units for the second quarter of 2013, according to DigiTimes. The figure is based on shipment information given from multiple sources who provide various components for Apple’s iPad mini.

The decrease may be as high as 20% monthly during April, the sources noted, and may continue to slightly decrease throughout the quarter to bring total shipments of the iPad mini to as low as 10 million units during the quarter.

The iPad Mini has been a hot seller. Together with the iPhone 5, the Mini awarded Apple with a 20.3 percent share of all connected devices in the fourth quarter and a 30.7 percent share of all revenue for such devices, IDC said this week. The iPad Mini has even grabbed sales from the fourth-gen iPad, say many analysts.

DigiTimes’ sources further claim that Apple recently adjusted this year’s shipment estimates for the iPad and iPad Mini:  33 million for iPad and 55 million for iPad mini.

If the reports are true, why would Apple cut shipments of its most popular tablet? Here are two possible explanations from sources:

Apple could be preparing for the next-generation iPad Mini launch in the third quarter. In January, KGI Securites analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who’s usually on the money, projected a third-quarter release for both the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad 5. Companies typically cut shipments of an existing product in advance of a new model. However, the sources also noted that Apple’s cut is because of increased competition from various 7-inch Android tablets.

The reported drop in iPad Mini shipments could easily be a combination of both factors. Or it could simply be business as usual, assuming the drop isn’t too severe.

Apple has faced questions in the past over cuts in shipments and component orders. In a January conference call about Apple’s fiscal first-quarter results, CEO Tim Cook challenged the accuracy of supply chain rumors, saying that Apple has “multiple sources” for product components.

“Yields can vary, supplier performance can vary,” Cook said, according to MacRumors. “There is an inordinate long list of things that can make any single data point not a great proxy for what is going on.”

Tips for iPad mini Data Recovery

You may lose important data from iPad Mini for various reasons: viruses attack, mishandling of the iPad like drop it to the floor or you may just delete data from iPad by mistake. In the event of such miseries, the best choice is to seek some professional help from data recovery tools. You could try iPad Data Recovery, which recovers not only iPad mini data but also recover files from iPad 4, iPad 3 and lower versions.
