It is reported by hackers evad3rs that an iPhone 5 and iPad 3 iOS 6 jailbreak finally arrived last weekend. The group has said that it will be launching its untethered iOS 6 evasi0n jailbreak on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3.
iOS owners have been desperately awaiting for the release for months now and it looks like the wait is finally over.
It has been reported that the untethered jailbreak has gone through tests on Mac, Windows and Linux before it was release on Sunday Feb. 3, 2013.
The jailbreak is “compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and iPad mini models running iOS 6.0 through 6.1,” the official evasi0n website has explained. That means that any iOS users who own an iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4, iPod Touch 5, iPad 3, iPad 4, and iPad mini will be able to use the jailbreak.
The iPhone 5, the iPad 4, and the iPad Mini have all been hugely successful over recent months and millions of the devices have been sold worldwide since release. However, many users seek to jailbreak their devices to optimize the functionality of the devices, and allows them to personalize it a lot more to their desires.
If you are interested in jailbreaking your phone, all analysts advice that files should be backed up first prior to attempting any jailbreak, to ensure that nothing important is lost. And you could backup iPhone to PC using iPhone Data Recovery.
An untethered jailbreak for the iOS 6 has been available for some time, although it has not been rolled out extensively because hackers expected that Apple would fix various bugs with the iOS 6.1 versions, and with the changes, ruin their work. However, the operating system has since settled down and should be stable for a fully fledged jailbreak to be released.
Users greatly prefer an untethered jailbreak to the tethered kind, as an untethered kind allows users to reboot the device without having to reinstall the jailbreak manually all over again.
Most people wish to jailbreak their devices to access unofficial apps, and download external software to help them customize their device outside the restrictions of the Apple Store and iTunes.
However, of course anyone planning to jailbreak their iPhone or iPad this coming week should remember that any warrantee would be invalidated by such actions.
By the way, if you happen to lose important data from iTunes backup files, it is easy to use iTunes Data Recovery to extract iPhone backup, or iPad and iPod touch backup.
